Prince Fune (船王)
The Prince Fune (year of birth and death unknown) was a member of the Imperial Family during the Nara period. His father was the Imperial Prince Toneri (the prince of Emperor Temmu). His older brother was Mihara no Okimi and his younger brother was the Emperor Junnin.
At the revolt of TACHIBANA no Naramaro in July 757, he tortured those involved in the revolt and drove the Prince Funado, the Prince Kibumi and OTOMO no Komaro to death. He was given the imperial proclamation to become an imperial prince in 759. He was accused of complicity in the revolt of FUJIWARA no Nakamaro and was exiled to Iki Province in 764.
